When finished this 108 piece puzzle of a Haunted House measures 24" X 15". Each piece is approximately 1" X 3" and looks like a typical jigsaw puzzle piece with male and female connectors. The Haunted House has five floors with eight windows on each floor and each window is assembled by connecting two pieces, a top and a bottom, any top piece will fit into any bottom piece. Once assembles, each of these two piece windows fits into every other window set. The trick of this puzzle is to determine the one correct logical solution based on the clues in each window. Some clues are obvious, such as "The library on the second floor has bats." while some are a little more subtle. In one window a girl says "Look at these clothes" and only by reading the other windows can you determine that the adjacent window must have the phrase "Let's try them on."
Putting the window pieces together is fairly easy. Each floor is a different color so there are only 8 tops to match to 8 bottoms and each window is distinctive enough to make that a straightforward process. The challenge is in figuring out the correct alignment of the pieces. After doing the puzzle a few times you do recognize some of the logic, like the dumbwaiter, fireplaces and stairs need to line up vertically. In case you get stuck a solution is included with the puzzle.
